I needed 4 traditional runners (not necessarily made for stairs... just a normal runner you would buy for your house).... with my curve there was a lot of waist so most stairs would only need 3. Mine is 27" wide. You can also buy a runner made for stairs- I just didn't find any I loved the pattern of that were as DIY and budget friendly. So you’re thinking about adding a runner rug to your stairs? After doing this myself here is what I wish I knew before I started! If you use regular scissors like I did, your hands are going to HURT! Regular scissors will work fine but I did give myself a few blisters.. Don’t overthink it invest in carpet scissors.. this is my top regret!
